Key Person Approach

Every child has a key person — a familiar adult who knows them, and who you can always talk to.

What a Key Person Does

  • Builds a secure, trusting relationship with your child
  • Helps your child settle and feel confident
  • Observes and plans for their individual learning
  • Is your main point of contact day to day

Getting to Know Your Child

Before your child starts, we ask about their routines, comforts, interests and needs, so their key person can support them from day one.

Sharing Your Child's Learning

Your child's key person shares observations, next steps and everyday moments with you, including through Tapestry.

If Your Key Person Is Away

Each child also has a familiar back-up key person, so there is always someone who knows them well.
